Vaidhya family hails from Karnataka, who where well

and bone fracture management. The Zamourins the
great king of Malabar, brought this Tulu Brahmin
family here for providing vital treatment for their
soldiers participated in Mamangam .They were remarked
for their expertise in Marama Chikilsa. |

During the period of Tippu Sulthan, they converted to
Islam following the Islam saint Sainudheen Mahdoor II
of Ponnani. In fact Sainudheen learned the treatment methods
from this family. Since then Changampally family members
are known as Gurukkal - 'The teacher ' |
